We are different from most other re-enactment groups; We have a history
of drawing creative and outspoken members and we welcome it.
We strive to look, march, fight and party better than everyone else.
We have reputation that people at events and even other groups recognize.
We do not expect you to know everything from day one. If you are willing to learn we are willing to teach you. You will not just be standing around all the time with a pike in your hand. You will learn how to use and carry the weapons correctly and safely, pole arms, swords, muskets, cannon are available to learn about and use. We also have the resources and facilities when available to learn to create your own weapons.
As a new member we understand that you will not have the clothing or weapons, we do have loaners available, but through the course of your first probationary year you will be teamed with a sponsor and you will be required to make or buy the minimum gear that marks you as a soldat in the Fahnlien.
You may be low man on the totem pole but your are also the backbone of the unit, a majority of our members are soldat or dopple soldat level, further advancement is available for those that want it.
In our attempt to portray everything we can as accurately as possible we also like to have as much fun as possible doing it, after all what’s is the point of doing anything if you are not having fun doing it.
We have a very no nonsense command structure and strive not invite drama, if you have an issue or a problem with another member of the group your sergeants and group officers are available to help you to solve problem if needed. All we ask is that the problem is solved directly within 48 hours. We are a small cohesive unit and enjoy each others company and in a lot of way get along like an extended family. We watch out for each other and even for members of other Landsknecht groups we know. |
